🧭 Minecraft Stronghold Calculator

Triangulate the exact stronghold — and the End Portal inside it — from two Eye of Ender throws. No world seed required: this works on any survival world, server, or Realm. Throw an eye, press F3 + C to copy your position, paste it below, then repeat from a second spot.

🥇 First throw

Or enter manually (Bedrock): X, Z, and facing angle (yaw).

🥈 Second throw

Move perpendicular to the first throw for best accuracy.

How to Triangulate a Stronghold

An Eye of Ender always flies toward the nearest stronghold. One throw only tells you a direction, not a distance — but two throws from different spots give two lines that cross exactly at the stronghold. Here is the reliable method:

  1. Craft a few Eyes of Ender (blaze powder + ender pearl). You'll need at least two.
  2. Stand still and throw the first eye. Watch the direction it flies.
  3. Press F3 + C to copy a /tp command with your exact X, Y, Z and facing angle, then paste it into First throw above. (The angle is captured the moment you press F3+C, so face the same way the eye flew.)
  4. Walk 30–50 blocks perpendicular to that first direction. Don't just walk forward — moving sideways is what makes the two lines cross at a sharp angle.
  5. Throw a second eye, press F3 + C again, and paste into Second throw.
  6. Hit Calculate. You'll get the stronghold's X/Z and a ready-to-use /tp command.

Bedrock Edition

Bedrock has no F3+C clipboard copy. Enable Show Coordinates in world settings, open the debug/position overlay, and type your X, Z, and facing rotation into the manual fields for each throw.

Getting a sharp result

The tool warns you when your two throws are nearly parallel — that's when triangulation is least accurate. If the angle between throws is small, walk farther sideways and throw again. A perpendicular offset of 50+ blocks usually lands you within a few blocks of the portal.
