Frequently Asked Questions
Do 1.21.5 seeds work in 1.21 or 1.21.4?
No. Minecraft 1.21.5 includes terrain and structure generation changes that cause the same seed to produce different results in earlier 1.21.x releases. Always match the version number exactly — your game version appears in the bottom-left corner of the title screen.
Can I use these Java Edition seeds on Bedrock?
No. Java and Bedrock Edition use completely different world generation algorithms. The same seed number produces different terrain, biomes, and structures on each edition. There is no conversion tool — Java seeds are only valid for Java.
What does "near spawn" or "at spawn" mean?
Seed lists describe structures as "near spawn" when they are within roughly 200–500 blocks of the world origin (0, 0). Your exact spawn point may vary by up to 20 blocks. Press F3 on Java Edition to display your current coordinates and navigate to the listed X, Z values.
How do I enter a seed in Minecraft Java Edition?
On the Create New World screen, find the "More" tab and paste the seed in the seed field. Copy seeds exactly — including any leading minus sign for negative values. A single wrong digit produces a completely different world.
