๐ฟ 1. Mangrove Swamp Basics
The Mangrove Swamp was introduced in Minecraft 1.19 "The Wild Update." It features unique mangrove trees with prop roots, warm fog, mud blocks, and its exclusive resident โ the frog.
- Trees: Mangrove trees with underwater prop roots
- Ground: Mud blocks replace dirt in this biome
- Water: Shallow warm water with lily pads
- Mobs: Frogs, tadpoles, tropical fish, slimes (at night)

๐งฑ 3. Mud Block Crafting
Creating Mud
Mud is a renewable resource: use a water bottle on any dirt block to convert it to mud. This means you can produce infinite mud anywhere.
Mud Products
- Packed Mud: Mud + Wheat = Packed Mud (firmer version)
- Mud Bricks: 4 Packed Mud = 4 Mud Bricks (beautiful building block)
- Mud Brick Stairs, Slabs, Walls: Full set of building variants
- Clay Conversion: Place mud on pointed dripstone โ converts to clay over time
๐ก Infinite Clay Farm
Combine water bottles + dirt = mud, then place mud above pointed dripstone to produce renewable clay. This makes clay (previously finite) an unlimited resource for terracotta and brick production.
๐ธ 4. Frog Breeding & Colors
Three Frog Variants
- Orange Frog (Temperate): Grows in temperate biomes โ plains, forests, rivers
- Green Frog (Cold): Grows in cold biomes โ tundra, snowy plains, taigas
- White Frog (Warm): Grows in warm biomes โ deserts, jungles, badlands
Breeding Process
- Feed two frogs slimeballs to trigger breeding
- One frog lays frogspawn (eggs) on water
- Frogspawn hatches into tadpoles after a few minutes
- Tadpole color is determined by the biome where it matures
- Pick up tadpoles with a water bucket to transport them
๐ก 5. Froglight Farming
How Froglights Work
When a frog eats a small magma cube, it drops a froglight block matching the frog's color:
- Ochre Froglight (yellow): From orange (temperate) frogs
- Verdant Froglight (green): From green (cold) frogs
- Pearlescent Froglight (purple): From white (warm) frogs
Farming Setup
- Build a magma cube spawning platform in the Nether
- Design a mechanism to reduce magma cubes to their smallest size
- Lead small magma cubes to a frog enclosure
- Collect the dropped froglights with hoppers
๐ชต 6. Mangrove Wood
Mangrove wood has a warm reddish-brown tone, excellent for tropical and rustic builds. All standard wood products are available. Mangrove propagules (saplings) can be planted on land or in shallow water.
๐๏ธ 7. Water Building Ideas
- Stilt House: Mangrove fence posts above water with planks on top
- Boardwalk Village: Connected platform houses over the swamp
- Mud Brick Villa: Elegant mud brick structures with mangrove accents
- Fishing Dock: Mangrove wood pier extending into the water
๐ 8. Advanced Tips
All 3 Froglights Efficiently
Breed frogs in a Mangrove Swamp (orange), transport tadpoles by bucket to a snowy biome (green) and desert (white). Then bring all 3 colors to a Nether froglight farm.
